Family Service Hours are required of each family enrolled at St. Agnes School. Parental involvement at St. Agnes builds community and is vital to a child’s education. The partnership shared between home and school is valued in Catholic education at St. Agnes.
Each family at St. Agnes is required to complete 20 hours of family service. The student obligation of service hours is not included in the family service requirement. Families are encouraged to continue recording service throughout the school year, even beyond the 20 hours.
All hours must be completed by parents, guardians or close family members. Family service hours may be acquired by volunteering for any St. Agnes Parish and school sponsored functions. Five hours may be community service hours. Service Commitments must be completed and turned into the school office by the end of the school year. Hours may be counted from June through May.
The following chart outlines some examples of activities that may be available for service hour credit. The school website will have a link that list activities and functions that need volunteers. Additionally, groups such as the Holy Name Society and Parents’ Club will schedule activities throughout the year where blocks of time may be accrued.
